Susannah was always encouraged to perform, beginning with acting engagements in West Texas and Oklahoma television and theatre. Thus, launching a natural-born, life-long dedication to the arts.
Before venturing down to Key West, FL, Susannah worked in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area for 8 great years, while continuing her fine-tuning at Washington Improv Theater, Theatre Lab, and The Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory. Credits include A&E's Cursed; “Nancy” in GreatFlorida Insurance commercials; Red Barn Theatre’s Meteor Shower, Life Sucks, and Fools; Waterfront Playhouse's Peter and The Starcatcher, Avenue Q, and Noises Off; internationally-acclaimed, award-winning web series Thurston. As a member of various longform improv ensembles, including Tonally Inappropriate—an a cappella, musical improv troupe—Susannah has performed at Washington Improv Theater, DC Improv, The Comedy Spot in Arlington, Virginia, and Del Close Marathon in New York.
In addition to performing professionally, Susannah has always gravitated towards work and study in the creative sector. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art and Art History, her artistic talents span the spectrum, from painting to prose and movement to music. She also possess over 20 years of professional experience working in design, education, and museums in places like the Brooklyn Museum and the Smithsonian Institution. She currently flexes this muscle as a designer and editor in Key West, Florida.
As a storyteller, Susannah is influenced by a range of art forms—acting, improvisation, creative writing, painting and illustration. However, connecting with people diverse in age and background, as well as time spent in the great outdoors, can often be the most powerful stimulus to spark insight and forge new material. Indulging in contagious laughter, Susannah finds strength in silliness and compassion, and looks forward to future creative endeavors.
